Tidewater Murder by C. Hope Clark

I loved Lowcountry Bribe, the first book in C. Hope Clark’s Carolina Slade’s mystery series. So when the second book, Tidewater Murder came out, I made sure to buy it! My favorite mysteries are with strong heroines, like Slade. Hope has done a great job with Slade’s character. I believe she is as interesting and kick ass as some of my other favorites such as V.I. Warshawski and Kinsey Milhone.

The details of life in the south made Tidewater Murder colorful and three dimensional. For someone who has lived her whole life in the northwest, I found Hope’s story intriguing and fascinating. At the same time all these enriching details did not detract from the mystery at the heart of the story.
